6/9/2023 0 Comments 40 dmg vs stonework![]() ![]() It's still far too easy to justify 40 dmg from a reactable 15 dmg attack when it's also easy and completely risk free to block. And given that in most cases, a light parry is a read (most meaning on console, PC only makes up about 10% of total playerbase, and while the platform is completely reactable, it's not statistically significant in this case), it isn't completely outlandish for light parries to deal quite large damage numbers. Either way neither balance standpoint is really better than the other so long as the difficulty to execute the damage proportionally aligns with it. Of course in this case balance is very subjective, many fighting games do damage very differently, from Mortal Kombat where outside of a corner combo you're only going to get maybe 30-40% on average, to games like Samurai Showdown where you can easily lose half-three quarters of a health bar from a few hits. In general from a fair balance standpoint I don't personally think you should get more than 30-maybe 35 off of a light parry at max, as that is easily a 3rd of a health bar on some characters. Personally I think 40 dmg is slightly too much, but the characters that have light parry punishes that are higher or potentially higher are a pretty small percentage
